Kenneth N. Harrison Memorial Scholarship

The Kenneth N. Harrison Memorial Scholarship was established by anonymous donors in Yuma to honor Kenneth Harrison and his life’s work as a fire fighter and his love for restoring old cars.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students that graduated from any high school in Yuma County. This includes the current graduating class and previous graduates.
  • Planning to pursue a career in auto technology or fire science.

Application Requirements in Addition to the General Application Questions:

  • Third letter of recommendation: this should come from an individual who was not asked to submit in your main profile. For the Harrison scholarship, this letter would ideally come from a mentor in the auto tech or fire science fields, as this scholarship seeks to award students planning to pursue one of those careers.
  • Student must complete the additional essay required.

Award Details:
Scholarships of of up to $2000 will be sent to the schools of winning applicants in two payments, half in July for the Fall semester and half November for the spring semester.

    This letter of recommendation must be completed by a teacher, coach, mentor or faculty sponsor, describing your community involvement or leadership skills.

    Note that your general application required 2 references. This third reference should be submitted by someone additional, so please select a different reference than those already listed in your general application.
