Catherine M. Newman Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Catherine M. Newman Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Catherine (Cathy) Marie Newman with the objective of helping scholars who have demonstrated a passion for learning, hard work, and giving back to the community, but who may also need financial assistance to bring the dream of a college degree to fruition. Your application for this scholarship honors Cathy Newman’s memory and we appreciate your interest.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • U.S. Citizen, legal resident or DACA student.
  • Graduating high school senior or current college student with less than 48 credits completed.
  • Enrolled, or planning to enroll, full-time at ASU, NAU or the UA.
  • 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Financial need as verified by the Student Aid Report from the FAFSA application.
  • One submitted letter of recommendation is required.
  • Preference for students majoring in sciences or writing (including math, engineering and journalism).
  • Preference for students committed to community service.

Award Details:

  • This is a one-time award that will be sent in two, equal payments to an educational institution for tuition and fees.
  • Students may reapply each year.
